International Police Mountain Bicycle Association Instructor

Congratulations to Paramedic Rob Collett on completion of the IPMBA EMS Cyclist Instructor Course. Rob is the coordinator for the Bicycle Emergency Response Team (BERT), our EMT Reserve bicycle group. He created BERT and is taking bicycle EMS to a new level that will serve our community with more appropriate response to emergencies. As northern Colorado's bicycling culture grow, PVH EMT Reserves are keeping pace. Ride on!

Rob is now one of only 270 IPMBA instructors in the nation. Strong work, Rob!

Monday, 5/7, 6-7pm - Bicycle Ambassdor Program informational meeting. Learn how to become an ambassador and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Location: The Group, 2803 E. Harmony Rd. (building with the clock tower on the corner of Harmony and Corbett Drive)
 
Saturday, May 12 and July 7, 8am-4pm.  Traffic Skills 101 (TS101) - FREE – includes lunch and materials. Location TBA.  Based on the League of American Bicyclists curriculum, this course will include bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. Riffenburg Elementary School Safe Routes To Schools 2012

The PVH EMT Reserve Program just completed teaching the Safe Routes to School Program through the City of Fort Collins to all the kindergarten through 5th-grade students at Riffenburg Elementary School. The two-week program included classroom training on pedestrian safety, bicycle helmets, rules of the road and bicycle safety in the first week. The 2nd through 5th graders participated in a bicycle rodeo during the second week. They practiced using hand signals, bicycle control and  safety skills.

Safe Routes To School for Poudre School District 2012

Erin Brazzill, Ryan Gibbons and Clay Young began teaching the K-5th grade students bicycle safety basics, rules of the road, helmet fitting and pedestrian safety. Next week we will have the bicycle rodeo's for the 2nd-5th graders!
